Toronto, ON – April 28, 2014 – Tournament Director Karl Hale has selected contemporary painter Brendan Murphy as the official artist for the 2014 Rogers Cup, taking place August 2-10, 2014. With studios in Brooklyn and Malibu, the bicoastalartist has painted some of the top players in the world including Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and Rafael Nadal. In doing so, Murphy has established himself as one of the more progressive portrait artists in the world of sport, especially tennis. Murphy’s work will be used for the official tournament poster, media guide and program. In addition, Murphy will host an exclusive exhibition of his works in conjunction with the tourney, to be held on Tuesday, August 5th.
